I send a questionnaire to all my brides several weeks before their wedding to make sure I'm prepared to capture everything they've worked so hard on. Had anyone besides Katie told me her wedding was going to have a "Kate Spade Carnival" theme, I'd be nervous. But with Katie's artistic mind and outstanding style, I had zero doubts she was going to totally pull it off an gorgeous wedding, and she didn't disappoint. Katie and Bryce's wedding day was filled with confetti, games, piñatas and cotton candy, all wrapped perfectly in pinks and golds and black and white.
We started the day by getting ready at Katie's grandparents' house just a few minutes away from the venue. And there was a golden doodle.
I LOVED Katie's shoes, and I fought the temptation to wear them when she wasn't looking.
Jana and Kinsley weren't the only ones to get attacked by the veil that day, but they had the funniest photo of it.
I'm totally adding "Photo Used as Temporary Tattoo" to my resumé.
The programs were filled with games, and I loved watching how intensely their guests filled them out!
That flower. I just can't take it.
CAN'T. TAKE. IT. So perfect.
Whenever a couple says they don't want a First Look because they don't want to take away the emotion of walking down the aisle, I'm just going to send them to Bryce. Nothing steals that moment, and I loved watching Bryce swell up with joy until he couldn't take it anymore.
So there was this one line... during their vows... that neither Katie nor Bryce remembered when they had to repeat it back. And the officiant called them out on it, since, you know, Katie and Bryce were the ones that gave the line to him in the first place.
One of my core beliefs is that there's no better use for confetti than in a wedding.
I love the way Katie's bridesmaids looked at her when she randomly burst out in tears after the ceremony.
I promise I don't normally sing — literally sing — about my couples weeks later, but every time I'd go back to edit their photos, there this was. Best hashtag ever of all time ever, amen. Bum bum bum ba da dum dum...
